The asado is a time when families and friends get together to share and experience the great food they have created. This is the complete essence of an Argentine asado: a cultural dining tradition handed down from generation to generation.
The Argentine asado represents a national identity and a unique culture with its own customs and rituals.
The Buenos Aires AsadoAdventure is an open invitation to become part of the family and experience creating an Argentinian asado. Our food tour is organized into small intimate groups (up to 10 people), where you will be guided through the cooking and social traditions of the Argentine asado.
We invite you into our private residence that used to be a bakery, built in the 1898. We will get to know each other a little and start making the chimichurry before heading out We’ll buy our ingredients just like a local would go about organizing their own Argentine asado. You will also be getting a walking tour of the very hip and trendy Palermo Viejo neighborhood and enjoying some street art along the way.
Picada – We offer dried and aged artisan salami from Tandil; Pickles and some cheese with a fernandito.
Salads – We serve two different types of salads, potato and egg salad, together with spinach, mango and caramelized pecans. We will have seasonal variations as well.
Achuras – It’s the opening salvo of meat before the main course and we also serve Provoleta (provolone cheese with herbs and pepper).
Wine – Every great asado has wine. We will purchase a bottle of wine per two people to share.
Main course – Delicious Argentine meat. We’ll go to the butcher, learn about the different cuts, and pick the ones that we like.
Dessert – Traditional Argentine desserts to discover and enjoy, followed by a round of mate, one of Argentina’s favorite non-alcoholic drinks.

Trip Itinerary
Arrive at my private home to start the preparations for our lunch together.
10:00 AM - Introduction
- Arrive and we introduce each other while having a glass of water if you like.
10:15 AM
- We light up the grill and begin making the chimichurri sauce
11:15 AM - Grand Central Station
- We head out for our shopping trip. We will visit the local plaza on our way to the butcher, baker, and wine shop. Along the way we will stop to admire some of the local street art.
01:30 PM - Argentina’s unoficial drink
- we are back at the house and we will have a picada waiting for us. I’ll explain what that is as I make your Fernandito.
02:00 PM
- we put the salad together and head out to the table and the grill area. We look over the grill and see all the various cuts that are grilling and how to grill them and then we sit down to eat.
03:30 PM
- We should be done with lunch and dessert and we warmly say, chau!
