Course Description
01. INTRODUCTION
In this section of the course, you will learn how the styling industry works, what is the earning potential for fashion and celebrity stylists and what are the different career opportunities in this industry.
02. INTERNSHIP
This is a very important section of the course where you will learn the importance of completing your internships, how to get those internships as well as what are stylists looking for when they need to hire an intern. Many more internship topics will help you obtain your first “on field” experience working for a stylist.
03. PREPARING FOR A JOB
In this section you will learn what should be in your styling kit, how to merchandise and everything you need to know to make sure you don’t get FIRED and other lessons that will prepare you for your first day working with a stylist.
04. DIFFERENT TYPES OF STYLING JOBS
In your career as a stylist you will be working on many different type of jobs like Print Editorial, Print Advertising, Music Videos, Red Carpet and many more. In this section, you will learn how all those jobs come together step by step.
05. PRE-PRODUCTION
You got a job so this is an essential part of the course where you will find out how to conduct the Creative meeting with a client, how to analyze Mood Boards and how to create one, as well as learning about pull letters and call sheets.
06. SHOPPING
This is a section where you will learn how to shop as a STYLIST. You will find out what are studio services, restocking fees, how to “pull” from costume houses, department stores and boutiques and other topics to help you shop like a pro.
07. REQUESTS
Sending email requests is a very important part of working on print editorial jobs as well as when you are working with celebrity clients. In this section, you will learn how to properly write those requests.
08. BUDGETS
This is an essential part of the course which will show how to deal with budgets. Starting with the wardrobe budget and making sure your expenses get covered in your overall budget, you will learn all this and more in the section.
09. FITTINGS
In this section, you will learn how to conduct fittings with your celebrity clients and how to fit your talent for commercials and advertising campaigns and much more.
10. THE SHOOT
You will learn how to conduct yourself on set. What are on set etiquettes and how to avoid any missteps. You will also find out how to organize all your clothes and accessories, unpack them and then pack them back to keep everything Drama Free!
11. THE WRAP
It’s time for the final paperwork to close out a job. In this section you will learn how to properly organize your receipts, how to turn in your expenses to the client and what are petty cash envelopes.
12. BUILDING YOUR CAREER
It’s time to work on your career and in this section you will find out how to negotiate your rate, what are “test shoots”, how to start working on your portfolio, how to get representation and networking etiquette.
